GROUNDING Drop off homeschool program
For 5-10yo

Holistic, heart centred learning.
Revolutionising education.

This time in history requires our children to be grounded, resilient and steady.
More than ever they need to be flexible, adaptable and capable of recovering from setbacks and change.
To do this successfully they need to know how to manage their inner world.
This program explores where our inner landscape meets the outer landscape.
Through art and eco crafts for the mind, body and spirit, playful movement, nature connection and ancient wisdom.

A diverse learning experience is offered with guest mentors from the community.
Movement Mentor Paula Flinn offers parkour, Sound Healing with Nicole Loyd (who attend the Nature Village), experiences and Nature Mentor Kath Grimbly honouring children's individual approaches to learning and integrating information.

Parents receive a detailed summary of their child's activities each week for their personal/moderator's records.

TOPICS:
Mindfulness practices through movement.
Grounding using the senses.
Failure is positive.
Friendship.
Empathy.
Gratitude.

LEAD MENTOR/FACILITATOR:
Kate Andrews Ecotherapist (training)
I believe most children learn kinaesthetically (through their whole body and all senses) so nature is the cornerstone of the Grounding program.
Through this program I make emotional 'soft skills' tangible in a practical way.
I blend art and eco therapy, ancient rituals, nature wisdom and tool use into this program. I believe these form a solid foundation for healthy life skills any child can build upon as they grow up.

MOVEMENT MENTOR
Paula Flinn (parkour)
Paula is a Movement Coach, Parkour Instructor, and Breathwork Facilitator.
She is fascinated by the ways in which we can integrate and weave together healing with breath and movement.
Paula approaches movement through a lens of curiosity, exploration and playfulness. Her 3 children are the reason she got into Parkour at 35 years old, and they never fail to set the BEST challenges.

SOUND HEALING MENTOR
Nicole Loyd
Nicole is a classically trained musician (double bass and piano) who teaches people of all ages about the benefits of using sound and music in their life to manage daily stress and life transitions. She has been facilitating therapeutic sound healing journeys for the past 10 years and now shares her knowledge with those wanting to do the same. Nicole is a veteran homeschooling parent of 4 daughters for 20years and brings a wealth of experience to this role.

EDUCATIONAL-NATURE MENTOR
Kath Grimbly
Kath is a mother, counsellor, nature therapist, whole-food caterer, poet and lover of nature. She studied primary teaching but decided the indoor classroom environment did not quite fit her path. Since then she has raised her own daughter, studied massage, counselling and nautre-based therapy, learnt to facilitate Joanna Macy's 'The Work that Reconnects' and is the volunteer catering manager for Activate Tree Planting, a bi-annual tree planting festival that is rehabilitating WA's wheatbelt.

This is an all weather group (unless extreme weather which you'll be notified if we don’t go ahead). following the inspirational quote:
"There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing.'
This helps build resilience physically, mentally and emotionally.
